Shield Making

Why Would You Make A Shield?

Shield making is a skill anyone can develop and use in their everyday lives. It is a
tool which can show the road to claiming your Power. Shields work on the quantum
energy level engaging the 'stuff of creation' to bring about change or manifestation
in your current life.  As I continue to study and grow I find other tools to help with
the art of Shield making. Making it an even greater means of creating change.
Below you will find a quick overview to launch your creative imagination.

Create a Medicine Shield to:

  • Find our power totems of the plant, mineral and animal kingdoms and enjoy
    a visual representation of them
  • Create a tangible energy representation for our 'seat of power'
  • Make a visual reminder of our Divine Nature
  • Express your unique creative abilities
  • As a group effort to bring about change
  • As a business logo

Constructing A Shield

  • The Shield base is round. What you want to use is entirely up to you. Since I
    farm with sheep and goats I use felted fiber as my basic Shield. The original
    Shields were animal skin stretched over willow branches which had been
    formed into a circle.
  • Take the 'medicine canoe' journey and retrieve the symbols you will use to
    create your desired outcome
  • Create your symbolic representation and secure them to the Shield base
  • Finish the Shield in whatever creative manner you feel suites the outcome.
    Most Shields have symbolic representations hanging from them. Since I have
    fiber I use a variety of yarns. You are limited only by your imagination. The
    original Shield used strips of leather and various article which were found in
    Nature such as rocks, feathers, sea shells unusual tree pieces etc.
  • When you are making your Shield you want it to be 'infused with the energy
    of your intent'. Keep your mind focused on the desired end result while
    making your Shield.
  • Once the Shield is completed then perform a blessing for the Shield and the
    outcome. Yes, we all have the ability to 'bless' something.

After Construction

Once the Shield is finished then place it a space where it is the first thing you see
before you go to sleep and when you awaken. This acts as a powerful reminder to
the energy mind of your focused outcome.

Shield making needs to be a fun project. If you find yourself in some other state
besides enjoyment, happiness and delight, then you're going at it wrong. If you
can't infuse your Shield with the energy of joy and contentment then you will be
defeating your purpose of creation. Imagine how things would have turned out it
the Creator had done anything less than create in a state of bliss...
