Visionary Nursing
Visionary Nursing Visionary nursing describes a style and philosophy of nursing practice for both us as the nurse and caretaker and our patients. It returns us to a state of grace whilst engaging us in the act of 'hands on nursing'. Rather than the current nursing shortage and the soon to be actual crisis, the nursing profession can enjoy an emergence into a state of defined well being. Currently, we as nurses need reminding how truly exceptional we are. In our present state of 'nursing mental health' we are suffering from severe issues of self esteem. I base this thought from observation of nursing behavior both while practicing nursing and their personal lives. We fail to perceive ourselves as the unique and exclusive group we are. As a nurse yourself, you may shake your head or scoff, yet see if people from any number of other professions can walk a day in our shoes. We as nurses have exceptional skills and abilities including a huge capacity for compassion. We fail to recognize just how unusual we are and how very few people can actually do our jobs.
